Woodrue: Low on Luck LP
Woodrue have been preaching their end-time message for quite a few years now, slowly but surely making their way to the top of the current Finnish sludge scene. After the split 12" with Semtex, the band diminished into a trio, but this trimming of fat obviously made Woodrue even stronger since "Low on Luck" is undoubtedly the freshest pure sludge record from Finland since the first Fleshpress releases. You won't find happy-go-lucky stoner riffs through a few extra fuzz pedals here, this beast is far more filthy. There's a familiar groove if you share Woodrue's love for the pioneers of the sound such as Cavity, Buzzov*en, -(16)- or Grief, but as tempting as stuffing your pockets with other people's property often seems, Woodrue have decided to write their own material and after experiencing the weight of the riffage on "Low on Luck", you won't miss all those second rate riff thieves. Black vinyl in full colour sleeve. Limited edition of 300 copies.
